Dan Barton
Originally from Huntington, WV and grew up in the Washington, DC area.
Dan came from a musical family and began the guitar at the age of ten...also learned harmonica, banjo and drums; sang & performed with his dad, brothers and sister, playing folk music at county fairs and other local events. Had the honor of meeting and performing for Sargent and Eunice Shriver at their estate in Maryland, then a couple of years later, rock & roll came calling!
He formed band while attending college, and decided on the name 'Strike Four.' It wasn't long before everyone in the band quit their day jobs and began playing full-time in various night clubs in the Washington metro area, as well as for dances and parties. The band opened for many recording artists, such as The Drifters, The Blackbyrds, Roberta Flack, Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose, and the Spinners.
After touring several years, he relocated to Myrtle Beach and learned to play keyboards, and has been performing in the Grand Strand area ever since. (Guitar's still his main thing, though!) Dan's playing style consists of rock, blues, a little jazz and a little country. Influences include, but are not limited to, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, BB King, Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix and George Benson.
